How does the limit of claims for a household work?

  • There is a limit on the number of claims for each residential address, based on the appliance being claimed.
      • One per household for clothes dryers
      • Two per household for televisions
      • One per household for cooktops
  • Non-residential/business addresses do not have a limit on the number of claims for eligible appliances.
  • The limit is based on the address of the household, not the owner or tenant of the home. If a previous home owner or tenant has made a claim for an appliance at your address, it will count towards the household limit.
  • If you have not previously made a claim, but upon application the VEU confirms your household limit has been exceeded, your claim will be rejected and no rebate will be paid.
  • We will not be able to check your household limit until a claim is submitted to us.
